Picking Up the Pace

As things have been feeling good lately, I was considering testing for Rank III today. But over the weekend as I thought about it, I realized that I would need to go a full 10 minutes in jerk to hit my numbers with a little cushion, while only 8 minutes in snatch for an equivalent cushion. That's seemed a little lopsided to me.

So I decided to start working on increasing my pace a bit in the jerk (from 6 rpm to 7 rpm). This little improvement will allow me that cushion that I would like to have. And ultimately, increasing up to 8 rpm, would be clear sailing. Also, considering that future ranks require a slightly higher number of jerks than this one, I am probably wiser to start working on this pace now rather than later.

Here is today's session...

Jerk: 2 x 16kg - 5 minutes @ 7 rpm

Snatch: 16kg - 8 minutes @ 14 rpm

Treadmill: 20 minutes - walk/run

That's it.

Thanks for once again providing some inspiration. I think it is about time to get my lazy butt moving again!
